The jeep safari is actually one of the classics on Gran Canary and enjoys since many years a large popularity among all nations and generations. Combined with a camel ride it becomes an extra special experience.

The day begins with a short drive to Maspalomas, where the camels await you for an extended ride trough the dunes. From here you drive in jeeps on the coastal road, and enter the wild “barrancos” and ravines of the canarian mountain world. On the way we drive through green valleys with many tropical plantations, which form the beauty of this part of Gran Canaria. In contrast, areas of volcanic origin with amazing views impress us until we finally reach the reservoir “Presa de las Niñas”. We stay briefly here, to strengthen us with the delicious papaya juice, typical of this region, and the fresh traditionally home baked bread. Then we follow the narrow gravel road and see aspects of the island, which are only enjoyed by a few: rocky formations, native flowers, authentic inhabited caves…

The roads leads us further trough the pine forests towards San Bartolomé de Tirajana, where we have lunch. In the early afternoon we visit protected areas, which belong to the most beautiful on the island. On the way back to Playa del Inglés an eventful day, full of impressions and captured in many photos, which will always remind us of this special trip, comes to an end.
